In the final plenary session of Canada 3.0, the steering committee posted the Stratford Declaration.

 The Stratford Declaration

We agree that:

  • We have the opportunity to lead the world in digital media and create a national advantage by commercializing innovation
  • To be a leader in digital media all Canadians should be connected to all Canadian content on a fair and transparent basis
  • All Canadians should have the opportunity to participate fully in the digital world – an increasingly mobile world
  • Success requires new business models that encourage national collaboration and co-operation.

Thanks to all of you, the Canada 3.0 Forum was a resounding success.   We were overwhelmed by the turnout, thrilled by the high level of active participation, and delighted with the energy and enthusiasm directed toward Canada’s digital future.   We had hoped that the forum would be the start of the national dialogue on the prospects for and barriers to national success in digital media.    The event proved to be that – and so very much more.
