I am the President of Konekt, an exciting new project designed to take learning beyond the lecture halls and engage Canadian post-secondary students in a dialogue about real world issues and ideas. The Konekt project has two major components: Konekt.ca (a social media website) and Konekt Student Magazine (both launching in September, 2009). Konekt.ca is a place for Canadian post-secondary students to post, share and engage with inspiring content from around the world, which is classified (and made searchable) by academic field. Students are also encouraged to upload original essays, articles and blogs for other students to engage with. Twice a year (September and January), the most highly rated original content, posted and voted on by users across Canada, is published in Konekt Student Magazine and distributed free on campuses across the country.

Konekt.ca will go live to Canadian post-secondary students in September, 2009. The inaugural issue of Konekt Student Magazine will be released at the same time on campuses in Kingston, Ontario (Queen's University, St Lawrence College, Royal Military College of Canada), with plans for expansion by September, 2010.
