Kristina Verner is the Research & Development Officer in the University of Windsor’s Centre for Smart Community Innovation. She oversees various aspects of the implementation of the Windsor and Essex County Smart Community. She also serves as a sessional instructor in the School of Computer Science, providing instruction in computer concepts and cyber ethics.

Mrs. Verner has been instrumental in securing over 8 million dollars in grant funding to support the increase of information and communications technology within Windsor and Essex County. Mrs. Verner has been nominated for a Teaching Excellence Award in recognition of her teaching commitment to working to benefit students with Special Needs.

Mrs. Verner holds three degrees from the University of Windsor - a Bachelor of Arts (History) degree, a Bachelor of Education degree, and a Masters of Business Administration degree. She has recently commenced her PhD studies in Educational Policy & Leadership (University of Windsor).
