In the final plenary session of Canada 3.0, the steering committee posted the Stratford Declaration.
The Stratford Declaration
We agree that:
- We have the opportunity to lead the world in digital media and create a national advantage by commercializing innovation
- To be a leader in digital media all Canadians should be connected to all Canadian content on a fair and transparent basis
- All Canadians should have the opportunity to participate fully in the digital world – an increasingly mobile world
- Success requires new business models that encourage national collaboration and co-operation.

This is fantastic. What are the plans for operationalizing this declaration?
Exactly my thought--how do we get started especially item two. We know the when is now, where do we start, how do we start?
Agreed. In addition to engagement through our daily business efforts, what are the follow-on action items for those who attended the conference?
My understanding is that this will now be provided to the federal govenment meeting later this month to gain their input and alignment. It is critical that all levels of government have a common vision of the future if we hope to achieve "digital nation" status.
I am attending this meeting on Monday... I will update you on the next steps... if any... if allowed to :-) next week.
Tom Jenkins, Ian Wilson, Kevin Tuer and David Johnston will also be in attendance at the Digital Future Forum on June 22nd. We'll be sure to post any updates here.
This looks great, I look forward to being a part of this initiative!
